On a Rainy Monday

Please listen to 'Rainy Monday' by Shiny Toy Guns.....unless you are Faith, who can't appreciate the good in things in pop-culture.

Ms. Kate (Annie and Emma's mama) calls them my British fringe =] Ha ha. She came up to me today in church and explained that they weren't the cute little American girl bangs, but more European British fringe. ha ha. Which made me feel relieved. I asked Emily C. if when she first saw them if she wanted to pat me on the head and hand me a giant lollipop. She said no :)

Although, I think when I put my hair up they still look a little juvenile. So I need to run out and get some clips.

U2-The Power to Inspire

Ok. So. Random.
I was driving home alone last night, listening to my music at a respectable volume.
When out of those speakers came the sweet sound of my favorite band!
That's right, U2.
It wasn't one of my favorite songs of theirs (such as 'With or Without You', 'Sunday, Bloody Sunday', or 'One'). But it was much better than the trashy songs that were currently playing on the other stations, like 'He Said She Said'-Ashley Tisdale or 'Bed'-J. Holiday.....TRASH!
I've never really listened to the words of 'Beautiful Day' and actually thought about them. I always sing along, tapping my foot, and feeling pretty good inside.
But last night the words kind of struck me:

"It's a beautiful day, don't let it get away."

Yeah. I had been having a pretty crappy day. Or so I thought.
But when my hero (Bono) sang, "don't let it get away" I started thinking about the day God had given me that I just 'let get away' because I was feeling sucky.

COME ON! Let's think about the good things that happened:
1) I went to my FAVORITE coffee place 'Rise Up Coffee' and I had two giftcards. One only had like 89 cents left and I gave it to the lady. Turns out due to some technical process or something I only had to pay 89 cents for a $3.95 drink!! YAY!

2) I got two tests back. One from English and one from math. BOTH had excellant grades!

3) I got a fabulous hair cut! Really amazing. Pictures coming soon =]

4) My friend, Emily's, REALLY protective parents let me drive her! In the snow!! They have not let ANYONE drive Emily that has not been driving for at least two years, and even then reluctantly. And I have only been driving a year, including my permit days! So really, only six months! YAYAYYAYA! This is big. Everyone agrees it's big =]

5) Elizabeth turned 17!!! So much fun! I love her so very much! She is truly a great friend and an amazing person <3

6) IT SNOWED! What happened to the days where I was actually excited about the snow? Do I even remember snow cream and sledding?

7) Christian won fan favorite on Project Runway and I got to see Kit Pistol again!! W00T! W00T!

I won't tell you what I thought went wrong with yesterday. BUT see all the things that should make me so amazingly happy (especially the coffee!) and I still felt nasty-o. Rachel Taylor, you are lame!
Ha ha.

I pretty much have a new motto: "Don't let it get away"
This applies to many areas of life. That new shirt on sale, men, and of course that beautiful day =]
