Tibet, Life and Other Random Things

Thanks again Rachel, for letting me use your blog.

Some have been interested in what is going on in Tibet ect. Since Olympics are being held in China this year they are seeing this as a platform to get the 'freedom' they want. Protests are happening all over the world, including here. They are peaceful, yet the Chinese government wants them to put to an end quickly so they are charged with batons or whatever you call them ready to hit an demonstrator who can get on the end of it.

Life is grand, have found a wonderful church here! Makes a HUGE difference. Am helping plan a VBS they will have for three days. Should be exciting and am very happy to be serving the local church here. Actually brings a taste of home to my life, except everything is in a different language and a smaller scale. 30ish people attending services each Saturday.

Power outages are still a huge part of life. Frustrating but am used to it now and have come up with a schedule that allows me to make the most out of my time... always a good feeling.

I've become addicted if you will to Prison Break. I've seen the first two seasons.

Pray for me as I'm pretty sure that shortly I'll be gaining a lot of responsibility here as if finances isn't enough. Haha. It will be good though and cause me to run to Christ even more which is never bad.

Well, I'll bring this to a close as I've got nothing interesting to say. I'll try to update more often, which should be doable.

Ah yes, one other thing... we too celebrated Easter last Sunday. We aren't strange like Ukrainians. Met at the church at 6am for a short sermon and singing and then joined thousands of Christians marching together to the center of town where a big rally was held celebrating our risen Lord! It is so evident to see the joy of the Lord on the faces of believers here. Good times indeed.

Thought vs. Action

So I was originally going to post a ridiculously long post about mushrooms.
How as a child (two months ago) they were gross and slimy and the idea of eating fungus was not appealing. The idea of eating a fungus is STILL not appealing, however, I have acquired a taste for there pungent flavor and spongy texture.

But I am tired and want to go to bed. Plus I want to watch Rebbecca with AnnaP......ugh...life is weird.

Thanks to the generosity of a certain Miss. Rachel, I shall be trying to grace her blog with a post from me once a week.

For now, we're up to 8 hours a day of load shedding. It's 6am and power just went, will be out until 10am only to out again at 2pm and return at 6 in time for me to watch the top 12 perform on American Idol. Never seen it before, rather exciting. Not something I'd be watching if my precious sports channels weren't taken from me.

Anyway, thanks again Rachel!
